Innovative and alternative business models and digital tools in rural and remote tourism destinations
Promoting cultural tourism at the same time as developing a local heritage community requires collaborative business models (including digital ones) which differ significantly from conventional business architectures. The aim of this work package is therefore:
- to develop collaborative business models for cultural and creative tourism and heritage community development in
rural and remote locations based on international experiences and insights from the pilots. - to include recommendations for pay-for-service contract mechanisms that benefit local communities in the business
model development. - to prepare a comprehensive report on digital business models, based on thorough research and analysis, that includes
actionable recommendations on the use and/or adaptation of existing business models. Additionally, a joint design
thinking workshop for all pilots on the use of digital tools in cultural tourism will be organised.
